Officers were honored Wednesday during a Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) awards ceremony at Public Safety Headquarters in Gaithersburg.
Awardees included Sgt. Patrick Kepp, who received the Medal of Valor, Purple Heart award, and Chief’s Award. In 2023, Kepp had both of his legs amputated after he was intentionally targeted and struck by a driver on I-270.
Along with MCPD officers, others receiving awards are with Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, Park Police, the Emergency Communications Center, and Maryland State Police.
