A Silver Spring couple became $100,000 richer Nov 21 when they claimed their prize at Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. They plan to put their winning money toward the purchase of a house, according to lottery officials.

The couple, whose names were not identified by the Maryland Lottery, purchased a $100,000 Extreme Cash instant scratch-off ticket at the Colesville Road Exxon gas station located at 8384 Colesville Road in Silver Spring. The scratch-off ticket sells for $30.

The couple plays the lottery regularly but this was their largest win. Lottery officials asked the couple whether they would continue playing the lottery. The husband said, “Of course. I want big money!”

His wife added, “He’s looking for millions!”

The Colesville Road Exxon receives a $1,000 bonus from the lottery for selling the winning ticket.
