U.S. Marshals Continue Search for Hogan’s Former Chief of Staff

Roy McGrath, who had been former Gov. Larry Hogan’s chief of staff, is wanted by the U.S. Marshal Service for failing to appear at his court trial Monday in Baltimore on charges of fraud and theft of federal funds.

McGrath, 53, resigned on Aug. 17, 2021 after it was revealed that he accepted a $230,000 severance package from his previous job as executive director of the Maryland Environmental Service, which he left to become chief of staff, according to the Washington Post.

Maryland U.S. District Court Judge Deborah Boardman, who was born in Silver Spring, issued an arrest warrant for McGrath.

According to numerous news reports, the FBI raided his home in Florida as part of an interstate search.

McGrath is wanted for wire fraud, falsification of records and theft among other charges.
