3. Metro Red Line Weekend Service: Metro will shutdown rail service between the Friendship Heights and Grosvenor stations from Saturday, March 16 through Sunday, March 17. There will be free shuttle bus service provided by Metro.

4. St Patrick’s Day Parade: The parade at the rio lakefront starts at 10 a.m. Activities are planned following the parade.

5. Free Rides Available: Nearly half of the U.S. Highway deaths on St. Patrick’s Day involve drunk drivers. The SoberRide program offers free Lyft rides to keep drivers from drinking and getting behind the wheel.

And One More Thing:  Early Voting in Maryland for the Presidential Primary Election begins on Thursday, May 2 and the Board of Elections (BOE) needs poll workers. Stop by the Board of Elections information tables Saturday to learn about serving as election workers, updating voter registration information and applying to vote by mail. BOE staff will be at the Maggie Nightingale (Poolesville), Olney, and White Oak Libraries Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 16.
