5 Things to Know Today, March 31, In Montgomery County

Today is Wednesday, March 31, and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.

1. Weekly County COVID-19 Briefing: County Executive Marc Elrich, County Health Officer Dr. Travis Gayles and Emergency Management Director Dr. Earl Stoddard will hold their weekly media briefing at 12:30 p.m. You can watch live on MCM channels 21 and 995 (HD), County Cable Montgomery and on the county’s Facebook and YouTube channels.

2. Vaccine Shuttles: Starting today, Ride On will offer free shuttles between the Shady Grove Metro Station and the Montgomery College Germantown COVID-19 vaccination site. The shuttle runs every 15 minutes from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. See more information below.

3. County COVID-19 Testing Clinics: Free COVID-19 testing is available throughout the county at seven testing sites today. 

4. Girl Power Contest Deadline: Today is the last day to submit an entry to the Montgomery County Commission for Women’s fourth-annual “Women’s History Month 2021 Girl Power Contest.” The contest is open to all county residents ages five and older.

5. Senior Planet Montgomery: Senior Planet Montgomery continues to offer free Zoom classes to senior residents. Today’s classes include “Fact-Checking and Digital Verification” and “Video Chat.”
