1. County Offices Closed: Most county offices and facilities are closed today to observe Memorial Day. Here’s the schedule:

2. Gaithersburg Observes Memorial Day: The city of Gaithersburg holds their annual service today at 11 a.m. at Christman Park to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

3. Rockville Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade: A ceremony to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms starts at 9 a.m. and is followed by the annual parade at 10:30 a.m. The ceremony takes place at Rockville Town Center. The parade starts at Martins Lane and N. Washington St.

4. Car-free Streets Extended: Sections of Beach Drive, Sligo Creek Parkway, and Little Falls Parkway will remain open to pedestrians and bicyclists through today.

5. Pontoon Tour: Take a 45 minute boat ride on Clopper Lake in Seneca Creek State Park in Gaithersburg. Boat rides leave at 11 a.m. and noon. Tickets may be purchased at the Boat Center.
