5 Things to Know Today, Nov. 21, In Montgomery County

1. Gaithersburg Gas Explosion: Friday, the police identified the man found in the rubble as Juan Pablo Marshall Quizon. The medical examiner ruled the death a suicide.

2. Latin Dance Competition: The After School Dance Fund hosts its 22nd Annual Latin Dance Competition at The Music Center at Strathmore at 6:30 p.m.

3. Municipal Monday:  The Gaithersburg Mayor and Council meet tonight at 7:30 p.m for an regular session. The agenda packet may be found online here.  The Town Commissioners of Poolesville canceled their meeting scheduled for tonight.  The Rockville Mayor and Council meet at 7 p.m. for a regular session. 4. FY24 Budget Forum: County Executive Marc Elrich is holding a series of hybrid budget sessions to seek input from residents about the Fiscal Year 2024 Operating Budget priorities. Tonight’s forum takes place at the Gwendolyn E. Coffield Recreation Center in Silver Spring from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Registration is requested.

5. Party With a Purpose: Montgomery Community Media invites you to our fundraiser and cocktail reception, “A Party with a Purpose” on Wednesday, Nov. 30 from 6-9 p.m. at the Silver Spring Civic Center. Check out our list of 5 Things to Look Forward to at the event.

And One More Thing: Phase two of construction to replace the glass canopies at the Glenmont Metro Station begins today and will cause certain bus bays to close.
