Maryland: Third Most Aggressive State Against Coronavirus

The personal finance website WalletHub released today its report on the most aggressive states against coronavirus, and Maryland ranked third nationally.

To identify which states are taking the most important steps to fight the coronavirus, WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia on 35 key metrics. The dataset ranges from proven COVID-19 cases per capita and state pandemic legislation to the uninsured population and labor force participation in affected industries.

On the website, WalletHub explains that, according to the World Health Organization, the principal way that the coronavirus (COVID-19) is spread is through close interaction with others. In response, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have recommended that Americans use “social distancing.” This includes canceling large events and staying at least two meters away from others when possible, among other measures to limit close contact.

In the report Virginia is ranked 24 and the District of Columbia is number 10.
