Montgomery County COVID-19 Statistics for April 26

Since Friday, April 23, the Maryland Department of Health has reported 238 new cases of COVID-19 in Montgomery County — 96 Saturday, 86 Sunday and 56 Monday. The county’s cumulative case count is 69,476.

The county most recently reported that 99 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 in Montgomery County as of April 19.

Montgomery County recorded nine new coronavirus-related fatalities since Friday, April 23. The death toll currently is 1,471, which is the highest in the state.

The county has a rolling seven-day average of 2.45% for positive COVID-19 tests, which is a decrease of 0.28 from Sunday’s average rate of 2.73%. The county’s positivity rate is lower than in 23 of Maryland’s 24 jurisdictions.

Montgomery County leads the state in total COVID-19 related fatalities (1,471) but not in total cases. Prince George’s County has 1,406 fatalities and the most coronavirus cases in the state with 82,405 cases. Baltimore County has the second-highest death toll with 1,421 fatalities and 62,652 cases.

Somerset County on the Eastern Shore has the highest per capita cases with 98.6 cases per 1,000 residents. Allegany County in the western region of the state has the second-highest cases per capita at 96.3 cases per 1,000 residents.

Maryland COVID-19 Statistics for April 26

Since Friday, April 23, the state recorded 2,659 new infections — 1,196 Saturday, 906 Sunday, and 557 Monday. The increase on Monday was the lowest since March 2 when 468 new cases were recorded. The state’s cumulative case count is 443,814.

On Monday, the state reported 1,115 patients were hospitalized across the state with the virus. COVID-19 related hospitalizations have been decreasing since April 20.

Maryland recorded 36  new coronavirus-related fatalities since Friday, April 23 — 15 Saturday, 13 Sunday and 8 Monday bringing the death toll to 8,483.

The state reported a rolling seven-day average of 4.51% for positive COVID-19 tests Monday. This is a decrease of 0.25 from Sunday’s rate of 4.76%.
