5 Things to Know Today, Nov. 17, In Montgomery County

It’s Thursday, Nov. 17 and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.

1. Gaithersburg Explosion: 10 people were taken to hospitals Wednesday morning after an explosion in a Gaithersburg neighborhood.

2. Cold Temperatures: The county is under a hypothermia alert until 1 p.m. today. Bundle up in layers when outdoors.

3. Montgomery County Council: Joint Education and Culture and Health and Human Services Committee Meeting at 11 a.m.

The two committees will meet jointly on Thursday, Nov. 17 for an update on the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future. The discussion will focus on resources to ensure all students are successful. The agenda and staff report may be found here.
