A man has been arrested and charged for multiple fires in Gaithersburg.
Fernando Herrera-Rivera, age 23, of Gaithersburg, is charged with six counts of arson in a series of fires Sept. 17, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer.
According to online court documents, he faces second-degree arson charges.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 13.
At least half a dozen “suspicious” fires occurred early Sept. 17 in Gaithersburg, Piringer previously stated. He had said a person of interest was identified and in custody.
