In 2022, the county’s police department turned 100 years old. As part of their celebration, they hosted a family friendly event at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Gaithersburg. More than 35,000 attended the one-day event.

This year, the police department is partnering with their partner public safety agencies to host a new event, known as Public Safety Appreciation Day. The event will take place on Sunday, May 21 at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Gaithersburg.

Food will be available for purchase from a lineup at Food Truck Alley.

Parking for the event is free. More information can be found online.

The event is hosted by Montgomery County Police Department, Maryland State Police, Rockville City Police, Gaithersburg City Police, Chevy Chase Police, Takoma Park Police, Montgomery County Park Police, Sheriff’s Department and Fire and Rescues Services.
