Five Things to Know Today, Sept. 25, in Montgomery County

It’s Friday, Sept. 25, and here are five things to know in Montgomery County:

1. Bethesda Food Distribution:  A group of nonprofits, businesses and churches are distributing food every Friday from now through October in Bethesda at the Bethesda Chevy-Chase Rescue Squad located at 5020 Battery Lane. The hours are from 1 to 3 p.m.

2. COVID-19 Testing: Free testing is available today in Germantown and Silver Spring from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Click here for more details. The schedule for testing next week may be found, here.

4. Election Countdown: There are 38 days until the Presidential Election on Nov. 3.  Montgomery County Board of Elections has mailed sample ballots to registered voters. October 13 is the deadline to register to vote and October 20 is the deadline to request a mail-in ballot. Early voting at 11 voting centers takes place from Oct. 26 through Nov. 2.

5. New Pool Reservation System Training:  Montgomery County recreation will begin using a new pool reservation system Monday, Sept. 28.  Virtual training on the new system is scheduled for Friday at 3 p.m., here.
