1. Washington D.C. Temple Tours:  The Washington D.C. Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kensington is open to the public for the first time in nearly 50 years. Tours are available from now through June 11. Parking on-site during the open house period is limited and requires a time-entry ticket. Here are some facts you may not know about the Temple.

2. MCPS Community Conversation: Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Interim Superintendent Dr. Monifa McKnight holds a community conversation at Paint Branch High School, Saturday, May 7 at 11 a.m.

3. Electric Scooter Training: This class for adults is offered by the county transportation department. The class takes place Saturday, May 7 at the Wheaton Ice Arena parking lot. Three companies will provide scooters so people can test them out, learn basic safety tips and basic scooter laws. Training sessions are free and no registration is required.

4. Strathmore Performance: Classical pianist Brian Ganz will perform Chopin classics Saturday, May 7 at the Music Center at Strathmore.

5. Ride On Bus Service Changes: Bus service increases take effect Sunday, May 8. Rides continue at no charge. Find the new routes and schedule here. Bus Route 4 will be extended from Kensington to Wheaton, providing a direct connection from the Kensington MARC Station to the Wheaton Metro Station.
